GEORGIA RESOLVES TO REMAIN CIS MEMBER

In a statement in Tbilisi following a cabinet meeting, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Levan
Choladze announced on 25 January that the Georgian government has decided not to withdraw from the Russian-led Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Prime News and Civil Georgia reported.
Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Kote Gabashvili explained that it would not be "expedient" to withdraw from the CIS until the government can complete a thorough assessment of the economic implications of doing so, according to Caucasus Press
